Bidirectional charging
from three different perspectives

Bidirectional charging means more than just feeding energy into the vehicle. Our technology covers all applications – from feeding energy into the grid (V2G) and supplying buildings (V2H) to the right hardware with ambiCHARGE Home.

V2H

With V2H (Vehicle-to-Home), electric cars can be used as a flexible power source for private homes.  Surplus electricity from the solar system is stored in the electric car and used to power appliances in the evening. In the event of a power outage, it provides a backup. Thus, inexpensive, self-generated solar power can also be used when the sun is not shining.

V2B

With V2B (Vehicle-to-Building), electric cars serve as flexible energy storage devices for buildings. This shaves peak loads and reduces energy costs. The stored energy supplements solar power and increases supply security. This makes buildings more efficient, sustainable and independent.

V2G

With V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid), electric cars feed energy back into the public power grid. Interconnected to form a ‘virtual power plant’, they balance out grid fluctuations.  This way, electric cars help to better integrate renewable energies and become flexible components of a stable power supply. Vehicle owners benefit financially by making their vehicle batteries available.

V2G project in Sweden

The Stenberg pilot project near Hudiksvall is being rolled out nationwide.
