The Mobility House and Ambibox are working on marketable vehicle-to-grid solutions for fleets and end customers

PRESS RELEASE

The Mobility House, the expert for smart charging solutions, and the engineering company Ambibox from Mainz have announced their partnership in the field of Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G).

The focus is on technical realization of a large range of attractive V2G products. The Mobility House contributes the EV aggregation platform and flexibility trading, through which electric cars are integrated into the energy market and commercialized. This enables e-car owners to offer their charging and battery flexibility while their car is parked at home or at work to earn money.

The car serves as a mobile energy storage unit and buffer for the power grid. Combined, in 2030 electric cars could provide more power than all conventional German power plants together. They could store renewable energies temporarily, absorb peak loads and thus stabilize the power grid.To leverage this potential, the two e-mobility companies will be working together in the future.

Ambibox, which develops advanced solutions for decentralized energy systems, contributes the V2G hardware with the "ambiCHARGE". The compact and cost-effective DC wallbox was developed specifically for bidirectional charging and is available in an 11kW and 22kW variant. The company plans to expand its charging services with a direct photovoltaic input and to integrate other devices such as heat pumps and stationary batteries. Assuming that the regulatory adjustments are implemented before the end of the summer, as planned by the German government, a scalable solution can then be offered on the market.

The Mobility House has been working on V2G solutions for more than ten years and has proven in several pilot projects that the technology works, does not damage the battery and promotes an efficient renewable energy system. Calculations show that customers who use e-car battery space as buffer storage can realize revenues of around 650 euros per year.

About ‘The Mobility House’

The goal of The Mobility House is to shape an emission-free energy and mobility future. We integrate vehicle batteries into the power grid using intelligent charging and energy solutions. This way, we promote the development of renewable energies, stabilize the power grid, and make electric mobility more affordable. The technology company was founded in 2009 and operates globally from its sites in Munich, Zurich and Belmont (CA). We support our private and business customers on their way to electromobility through the planning and building process as well as the operation of an individual charging infrastructure. As a neutral supplier, we work together with many partners such as charging infrastructure manufacturers, installation companies, back-end system operators, energy suppliers and automobile manufacturers. Our intelligent Charging and Energy Management system ChargePilot and the underlying EV Aggregation Platform enable our customers and partners to integrate electric vehicles into the energy system in a way that is both beneficial and future-proof.
